Even though there is a theoretical ground resolution texture limit in FSX/P3D, Russ White has managed to introduce a new method of building airport terrain in which he can exceed what was thought possible in flight simulation - an insane 2cm per pixel ground resolution, and without any real performance penalty! ]]>The AH-64D Apache Longbow, is equipped with an advanced sensor suite and a glass cockpit. The main improvement over the A-variant is the dome installed over the main rotor, housing the AN/APG-78 Longbow millimeter-wave Fire Control Radar (FCR) target acquisition system and the Radar Frequency Interferometer (RFI). The raised position of the radome enables the detection of targets and launching of missiles while the helicopter is behind obstacles (e.g. terrain, trees or buildings). A radiomodem integrated with the sensor suite allows data to be shared with other D-models; allowing them to fire on targets detected by a single helicopter.

]]>Also known as Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (IATA: PVR, ICAO: MMPR), Puerto Vallata International is located in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco at the Pacific Ocean side of Mexico. The airport serves thousands of tourists each year and in 2011, the airport handled over 2.5 million passengers. The airport is named after President Gustavo Díaz Ordaz.

The top ten busiest routes out of Puerto Vallarta are Los Angeles, Pheonix, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Seattle and Calgary, in that order. Airlines servicing the airport include, Aeromexico, Air Canada, American, Air Transat, Alaska, Arkefly, Canjet, Delta, Enerjet, Frontier, Interjet, Magnicharters, Sun Country, Sunwings, Thomas Cook, United, USAir, Viva Aerobus, Virgin America, Volaris and Westjet.

Puerto Vallarta International was developed on a medium system for medium to high-end computers, and was tested on WinXP, Vista and Win7 32/64 bit platforms with medium to high-end graphic cards. Specific requirements include:

RECOMMENDED FSX SETTINGS

Frame rates from scenery complexity and autogen settings were averaged at 30fps and above. This includes moving sliders 100% to the right. Lower settings yielded much higher frames, but our recommendation is Dense to Very Dense for variable exceptional rates. Since the scenery is 15/30cm/pixel photoreal and comes with own 38m mesh, it is highly recommended that Mesh Resolution be set at 1 meter within FSX Display Settings (or slider adjusted 100% to the right). Texture Resolution should also be set at 30cm or above (or slider set 100% to the right).

Recommended AI Traffic requirements and settings:

There are AI boat traffic movement within Banderas Bay. To maintain a formidable and exceptional level of FPS, it is recommended that leisure boats be set at 30% or less.
AI road traffic is only found at/near the airport at major road trunks so as to save on FPS. Recommended setting is 40% or lower.

MyTrafficX from B Renk (developer) is our choice of payware AI air traffic engine especially to reflect compatibility with real-world schedules and airline liveries that frequent Puerto Vallarta International. So you need that to experience RW simulated AI traffic flow. Recommended setting for fluidity is 60% or less. The product is also compatible with Ultimate Traffic 2, other non-payware AI programs, and default the AI engine.

PRODUCT DISCLOSURE and DISCLAIMER

Similar to any Flight Simulator (FS) Addons, this product may have issues that are either default (Microsoft-related) or developer-related. Issues that are MS-related, whether documented or undocumented are many, but we can only speak for our product. Although there are no micro-stutters or huge lag in fps as tested, it is advisable to lower the Water Effects within FSX Display Settings to High 2x. and set Autogen down to respectable levels for fluidity. These are recommended for lower to medium-end systems, however the scenery is meant for sliders maxed at 100% peak for those computers who can afford the high level scenery design.

No technical issues were encountered during various beta tests, whether hardware or software- related. Instructions for installation of software are straightforward; however, venturing outside bounds of recommended installation and use is at sole discretion of End-User. We will not bear responsibility for issues resulting from installation of the product, in part or full, into former Flight Simulator platforms which includes FS2004 because the product is not backward compatible. Furthermore, we will not be held responsible if files are altered within software for any reason associated with End-User taste or choice.

OVERVIEW

Accu-Feel is a program written for FSX that uses additional physics and sound to elevate almost your entire aircraft collection*, both default and 3rd party. It works at the core of FSX, and therefore does not make any changes to any of your aircraft files (for example, downloaded aircraft paints won't be touched). In fact, we don't need to edit or change a single file in your entire FSX install directory. We instead read the aircraft that is loaded, analyze it, then automatically create a custom physics and sound profile that is saved outside FSX. You, the customer, don't even have to know this is all happening. You can just select your aircraft and fly it.

However, people all have different likings, and while we have ours, we are happy for each person to have theirs too. So every aircraft can also be customized. Using an in-game GUI (Graphical User Interface), settings can be viewed and edited with easy-to-use sliders and buttons. Once done, all settings are automatically saved with the press of one button.

After installing Accu-Feel, you may climb in one of your probably never flown default Microsoft-built aircraft and think, this is actually quite enjoyable. Once we started playing with the initial versions of Accu-Feel, we found that our entire aircraft collection felt a whole lot bigger. Accu-Feel is also tested in-house with over forty 3rd party aircraft.

Instead of controlling an airport's runways and taxiways, you instead control the 400 square miles of airspace that surround the airport. Radar Chaos is intended for everyone, regardless of aviation experience, and is currently featured on Software Informer.

We have put great effort into making a game that is easy to play, out of a concept that is otherwise very technical. Although the program contains instructions, a new player should be able to simply grab the mouse and start clicking their way through the scenarios.

The first four levels are basic 'maze' levels. In these leves we turn the realism slider back a little bit in order to give new players a chance to become familiar with the basics. All radar symbols and information have been simplified with the new player in mind. Those who have real-world aviation experience, or those who develop skills from the first few easy levels, can progress forward by selecting higher realism options such as realistic data tags and aircraft radar imagery, the true-airspeed model, as well as realistic aircraft performance. Air Traffic Control Game and SimulationThe basic concept of a radar controller's job is to handle air traffic while it is outside of the airport environment. It is the radar controller who must be able to handle a swarm of arrivals, line them up on final approach, all 3 miles apart, then hand them over to the tower controller. And it is the radar controller who must be able to handle a flurry of departures by keeping them separated from each other, and from arrivals, then setting them on course for their destinations. Just like the real world of air traffic control, there is a great deal of decision making in this simulation.

Radar Chaos was inspired by our very own Simulator, which admittedly is very technical, and aimed at real-world pilots and air traffiic controllers. Air Traffic Controller did a better job of simplifying something very complex. Radar Chaos, at it's core, is a game. The control interface is as easy and user-intuitive as we could possibly make it. There should be no need for a user to hunt for the correct button in a given situation. There is no need to even hit "enter" after giving instructions. The control ring simply disappears when you are done with it.

Radar ATC SimulationWhat exactly does one do in Radar Chaos? There are two types of air traffic in Radar Chaos: arrivals and departures. Arrivals come to you at the edge of your screen, typically at about 8 or 9 thousand feet. It is your job to descend them to 3000 feet, slow them down to a reasonable speed of 200 knots, and steer them using vectors onto their final approach path at a shallow angle.

Departures come to you as soon as they become airborne. The tower would clear them for takeoff, then have them call you. Since the tower only climbs them to a low altitude such as 7000 feet, it would be your job to climb them to the ceiling of your airspace, typically 10000 feet. As well, it is your job to vector the departures to their outbound waypoint.

While you handle all of this traffic, keep in mind that you must abide by the rules of separation: 3 miles laterally, or 1000 feet vertically. Arrivals must intercept the final approach course at an angle of 30 degrees or less, at 200 knots or less, and at 3000 feet or less. Departures must overfly their departure waypoint, and must be climbed to the correct altitude.

ATC GamesFeedback is provided to players in a variety of ways. The primary indication of a skilled player is the "Airline Satisfaction" meter, which gives you a snapshot of how you have been doing recently. Your rank, which begins as "In Training", is cumulative across all game plays, showing you how much positive experience you have. You are also shown your salary, number of mishaps, as well as the total number of arrivals and departures that you have handled. A supervisor visits you regularly with tips and information, as well as feedback, both good and bad.

]]>Aurigny has served the Channel Islands since 1968. Its scheduled services between Guernsey, Jersey, and Alderney, and to destinations in the UK and Continental Europe, provide a lifeline for the local communities and their thriving business and tourism sectors. To date, Aurigny has carried more than 8 million passengers. In 1999 the airline introduced its first pressurized aircraft, a Saab 340. In 2002 the 4th Saab is delivered. They service busy routes such as London, Manchester and Amsterdam. This program takes you on all 3 types of aircraft operated by Aurigny (Saab, Shorts & Trislander) on a variety of flights to London, the Channel islands as well as to France and the Netherlands.

The airport has been beta tested by real world pilots, and by people with inside knowledge of the airport structure and placement of each building.

Billund Airport was according to Wikipedia ranked as number 10 out of a few 100 in the Nordic countries, when it came to the total passengers count for that year.
The count was on 2,2,835 at the end of 2009.

]]>TransBrasil suspended operations in 2001 but not before Just Planes filmed its International route from Brasilia and Sao Paulo to New York JFK and Washington Dulles. The 1st Boeing 767-200 was delivered to Transbrasil in 1983, the 767-300 joined the fleet in 1991. During the last 30 or so years of its history, Transbrasil was the 3rd largest airline in Brazil behind VARIG and VASP, both also in the World Air Routes series!
